Hello Fabulous!

Welcome to The Social Buzz!

Confidence starts with how you feel in your clothes, and trust me—I've learned a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t. Over time, I developed 5 key style habits that transformed my closet and my confidence, making me feel fabulous every single day

But first, let me tell you about one not-so-fabulous moment when these style tips saved my day—and my sanity.

XO, Isha

The Time My Closet Saved My Sanity

It was one of those slow-moving mornings, the kind where you can really take your time. I wasn't teaching that day, so I was lounging around, enjoying my coffee, spending time in my devotional, and whipping up a beautiful breakfast. Just soaking it all in, right? Well... then came the call that threw a giant wrench into my peaceful day.

Next thing I know, I'm upstairs in my office, working on emails, lost in the blissful ignorance of what day it actually was. Then, at 9:35 AM, I casually glance at my calendar and the words on my screen practically screamed at me: IN-PERSON STYLE PRESENTATION WITH WOMEN’S GROUP 10 AM.

OMG.

The wind was knocked out of me so hard, I didn't take a single breath again until the presentation was over. In full-on panic mode, I got ready in less than 5 minutes, probably screaming (and maybe cursing) the entire time. I ran through my closet, trying to think of what to wear and what to bring—except I couldn't think. My brain was in flight mode without the luxury of a flight plan.

I threw on black joggers, a black off-the-shoulder top, slipped into some mules, piled my hair into a bun, and slapped on makeup so fast it probably still looked like it was in motion. I was also texting the client, “I’m coming, but I’ll be a little late!” as I threw everything into the car.

Of course, that’s when I hit a complete stop. Construction. Still... not breathing.

Finally, I make it to the location, race up the elevator, and... 30 women are waiting for me. I didn’t have time to panic anymore—I just had to trust I knew what I was doing. And guess what? The presentation was fun, the women were intrigued, and my posture of confidence returned. By the time I finished, 45 minutes later, I finally took my first deep breath since 9:35 AM!

While I’m not proud of cutting it so close, I’m grateful that my style is so dialed in that there was no room for error. I knew exactly what I could throw on and still feel confident. And that, my friends, is the key to being stylish and confident every day.

5 Style Tips That Boosted My Confidence

Now that you’ve had a peek into my crazy (yet oddly successful) day, here are the 5 style habits that helped me pull it all together:

1. Intentional Shopping

No more impulse buys! I only invest in pieces that fit seamlessly into my current wardrobe. Everything I own is something I love, which means getting dressed is easy, even when I’m pressed for time (as you just saw!).

2. Taking Photos of Outfits for Future Use

To save myself from future wardrobe meltdowns, I snap photos of my favorite outfits and keep them handy. That way, when I’m rushed or uninspired, I can scroll through and recreate a look I already love.

3. Regular Closet Edits

I keep my closet fresh by editing it regularly. This keeps me from wasting time in the morning deciding what to wear.

4. Being Able to See Everything

I make sure all my clothes are visible and easy to access. Having everything at arm’s reach means no time wasted searching for that one top I know I have but can never find.

5. Cultivating a Loving Relationship with My Closet

The secret to my style is simple: I love my wardrobe! I treat my clothes with care and view my closet as a source of confidence. When you love what you own, getting dressed becomes a joy, not a chore.

So, what about you? Are you ready to implement these tips and start your own journey toward everyday confidence?

The Fall Style Report

New York Fashion Week 2024 was a stunning showcase of creativity, with designers pushing boundaries while honoring timeless fall classics. From bold outerwear to elevated basics, this season’s collections offered a fresh take on autumn fashion. Below are the top trends that will have everyone looking effortlessly chic this fall!

1. Oversized Outerwear: The Bigger, The Better

This fall, designers embraced oversized silhouettes in outerwear, and it's clear that coats and jackets are having a major moment. From exaggerated puffer jackets to long, billowing trench coats, the message is clear: your outerwear should make a statement. Look for voluminous shapes in luxurious fabrics like wool, leather, and quilted materials. Pair these bold pieces with sleek, fitted bottoms for balance.

2. Moody Florals: Dark & Dreamy

Florals aren’t just for spring anymore. This season, moody floral prints took center stage, with rich jewel tones and darker backgrounds creating an air of mystery and romance. Whether on dresses, skirts, or even outerwear, these fall florals add a touch of femininity with an edge. Pair with leather boots and oversized knits for a perfect day-to-night look.

3. Metallic Accents: Shine On

From shimmery blouses to gleaming boots, metallics are making their way into fall wardrobes in a big way. Silver, gold, and bronze hues were splashed across runways, with designers playing up shine and texture in both casual and formal pieces. Whether you're incorporating a metallic handbag, skirt as show below, or going bold with a shimmering dress, this trend is all about bringing a bit of glam to your everyday outfits.

4. Chunky Knitwear: Cozy & Cool

Nothing says fall like knitwear, and this season, the chunkier the better. Oversized cable-knit sweaters, long cardigans, and sweater dresses dominated the runways, offering a cozy but stylish option for those cooler days. Neutrals like cream, camel, and charcoal were prevalent, but bold colors like burgundy and emerald also made an appearance. Pair with slim-fitting pants or layer under a statement coat to balance the volume.

5. Plaid Redux: A Classic with a Twist

Plaid is back—bolder, brighter, and more versatile than ever. This fall, designers reimagined this classic pattern with updated colorways and unexpected silhouettes. Think oversized plaid blazers, wide-leg plaid trousers, overalls (we are obsessed with these), and even plaid accessories like scarves and bags. Whether you're going for a preppy look or something a bit more avant-garde, plaid is a must-have this season.

6. Statement Boots: Walk Tall

Boots are always a fall staple, but this season is all about making them the focal point of your outfit. From knee-high boots with bold textures to slouchy leather designs and combat-inspired lace-ups (click here for our favorite pair), there’s a statement boot for every style. These eye-catching pieces can be worn with everything from dresses to tailored pants, elevating any fall look.

7. Layered Leather: Luxe Looks

Leather is having a luxurious comeback this fall, not just in outerwear but in layered pieces. We’re seeing leather trousers, skirts, shirts, and even full leather outfits on the runway. Soft, buttery leather in neutral tones like caramel, chestnut, and black is key to achieving this look. Layer different leather textures together, or pair a leather skirt with a chunky knit for an effortlessly chic contrast. These are our favorites for the season and are also available in black.

8. Sheer Layers: Subtle Allure

For those who like a bit of intrigue, sheer layering is making waves this season. Delicate, translucent fabrics and lace were seen layered under sweaters, dresses, and jackets, offering a playful peek-a-boo effect. This trend adds dimension to your outfit, whether it's a sheer blouse under a chunky knit or a sheer dress layered over a slip.

9. Tailored Minimalism: Sleek & Sharp

Tailored pieces took a minimalist turn at NT Fashion Week, with clean lines, sharp silhouettes, and neutral palettes dominating the collections. Think fitted blazers, straight-leg trousers, and sleek midi skirts in classic shades of black, grey, and beige. This trend is all about understated elegance—perfect for the office or a polished evening out.

10. Bold Color Blocking: Mix & Match

For those who love to play with color, bold color blocking is back in full force. Designers showcased vibrant combinations like deep red with cobalt blue, mustard yellow with emerald green, and fuchsia with navy. This trend adds a playful, modern twist to your fall wardrobe. If you’re feeling adventurous, mix different textures within your color-blocked pieces for added depth.

This season at New York Fashion Week, the trends are all about balance—mixing bold, oversized silhouettes with sleek tailoring, and adding pops of shine and color while keeping things cozy with knits and leather. Whether you’re in the mood to make a statement with metallics or settle into cozy knits, Fall 2024 is all about embracing the season in style.
